Camps Bay is located just below the 12 Apostels and has not only the biggest beach near the town, but also a number of shops, restaurants and bars that provide for well-being of their visitors. That’s the reason why Camps Bay has become one of the favorite holiday destinations
Here the motto is also “see and be seen”, what many, especially young people attracts to come to Camps Bay. They enjoy a cappuccino on one of the terraces and in the evening there are many bars and clubs which represent the nightlife of Camps Bay. The atmosphere is very boisterous and familiar which directly invites to feel comfortable.
However, if you do not just want to be lazy, you can play beach volleyball on the beach, or climb Lionshead on your way home to experience an unforgettable sunset. Tennis, football, cricket and bowling can also be played here.
To have a more relaxed day, you can just have a picnic in the green area, left on the coast or combine a walk on the beach with a romantic dinner in the evening.
Camps Bay is definitely worth a day trip!
How to get there?
Pick up your Around About Cars vehicle and drive from the CBD to Camps Bay. There are two different ways to get there.
Around the mountains ( faster way) : Take the Aloof Neck Road towards Camps bay. You will automatically drive on Camps Bay Drive after a few meters. After 2km you turn right to Aloof Road which you just follow all the way down until you’re at the Camps Bay Promenade.
Along the Coast ( more beautiful way): Take Strand Street towards Seapoint and turn right to Avenue Fresnaye at the end of the street. Again at the end of the street turn left to Kloof Road. Go on until you reach Victoria Road, where you can search a parking slot.
Attention!: On nice days, especially on the weekend you should better take the way around the mountains, because the traffic could be very busy along the Promenade on the Coast!
