Durban winters can hardly be called winter but the drop in temperature does allow for some different activities to be enjoyed. There’s no reason to be stuck inside so get out there and explore the wonderful city that is Durban.

Big Swing at Moses Mabhida Stadium

This one’s for all you daredevils out there- the Big Rush Urban Adrenaline at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Officially the tallest swing in the world since 2011, the Big Swing will have you falling 80m into the stadium bowl. Moses Mabhida having been built for the 2010 Soccer World Cup hosted in South Africa has since seen many thrill seekers from far and wide looking to experience this record breaking attraction. Apart from the Big Swing there is also a number of exciting activities on offer such as stadium tours, Segway tours, Adventure walks and the Sky Car where you make your way up the stadium arch and step out onto the platform to take in a breath taking 360º view of Durban.

Go on a Curry Quest

Curries, biryanis, bunny chow, butter chicken, thali- there’s no better place to get your fix of authentic Indian cuisine than in Durban and no better way to beat the chill than with a warm spicy meal. A good curry can be a life changing experience and being such a quintessential South African dish it would be crazy not to experience it at least once while in Durban. There’s no shortage of options when it comes to good curry spots so it all depends on where you find yourself. But be sure not to miss out on opportunity like this. Some popular spots include Little Gujarat in Durban CBD, House of Curries on Florida Road and Little India on Lillian Ngoyi Road.
