The Two Oceans Marathon is held annually in Cape Town, South Africa on the Saturday of the Easter weekend.
The marathon is divided into different parts according to difficulty by following:
– Ultra Marathon – 56 km remaining on the traditional route via Chapman’s Peak, Hout Bay and Constantia Nek.
– Half Marathon – 21 km with new route for first 10 km
– Trial Run on 29 of March with 10 or 22 km tracks
– Fun Runs prepared for runners and walkers all ages
– International Friendship Run of 5km run/walk for international entrants
Since the first edition in 1970, the event has grown into a competition, with nearly 23,000 runners entering the Two Oceans Marathon in 2011. It’s divided into categories such as men, women with different age groups.
The Half Marathon and Trial Run are fully booked but there is still space for runners of Ultra Marathon and Friendship Run. The award for the winner of Ultra Marathon is prepared price of R25000. The winner in men category was since 1970 always from Africa.
