The Park was proclaimed in 1983, with more additions made after that, adding in Wilderness National Lake Area, and lands between Rondevlei and Swartvlei Lake

How to get there: Wilderness is situated close to the N2 highway, 15km from George, 2 km from Wilderness village, 410 km from Port Elizabeth and 450km from Cape Town. The closest airport is at George where Around About Cars can rent you a vehicle.
