KIRSTENBOSCH GARDEN: EXPLORE NATURE AND MUSIC
Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, situated at the foot of giant Table Mountain, offers you a wide range of nature, plants, flower and animals.
Sure, many of you, have been often to botanical gardens, but this one is a special one. It’s very well-tended and shows you a lovely way to learn new information about the nature there.
What we loved there especially was the fragrance garden. It’s a path where you can explore the versatile fragrances of different flowers. Not only you can enjoy sniffing at them, but also there are a lot of pretty interesting information provided. You may ask yourself, why leaves fragrant, why some just do it at night or why some plants just “fake” a smell. Be sure to spot the answers by taking the path on your own. In Kirstenbosch Gardens there also a lot of information provided, why and how plants die out and how you can help protect our beautiful nature.
We also loved to glean the beautiful giant trees, climbing on them or just take a rest under the big shadow of it. Another great thing in Kirstenbosch Garden is Tree Canopy Walkway – it’s a curved steel and timber bridge that guides you through the big Canopy Trees, where you can have a fantastic view overlooking Kirstenbosch Garden.
After exploring the Garden, take a break, sit on the grass, have a picnic and relax. But be careful – we relaxed a bit too much, fell asleep and nearly missed our bus.
Kirstenbosch is not only interesting for the lovers of nature, but also for people who love music. Until the 5th of April there are still happening the summer concerts in Kirstenbosch Garden.
