ABSA KKNK FESTIVAL (3 – 11 APRIL)

Normally, the trip to Oudtshoorn via the scenic Route 62 is even more exciting than the destination. However, when the 21st annual ABSA KKNK Festival takes place, there is one great reason more to rent a car, ideally a convertible, and drive to this amazing event. COOL AS FOLK CONCERT (18 APRIL)

On Saturday, 18 April 2015, Greenpop’s annual Cool As Folk concert will again celebrate the connection between environment and people. Jeremy Loops (co-founder of Greenpop), pop star Toya Delazy and other local acts will present an astonishing show.

Not to mention, there will be tons of food stalls, competitions and plenty of eco-friendly fun for eager attendees! Join this festival with a good conscience having fun AND supporting the planet.

 

NEON RUN (18 APR)

This electric night event promises much fun and excitement. Cover yourself with neon body paint and complete somehow (running/skating/walking/cycling) the five kilometres. Afterwards dance into the night with great acts like DJ Fresh and Desmond and the Tutus.

 

BOT RIVER BARRELS AND BEARDS POST-HARVEST FESTIVAL (17 – 18 APR)

Enjoy great food, wine and entertainment along the Bot River at the third annual Barrels and Beards Harvest Festival on Friday, 17 and Saturday, 18 April 2015. Food and vino lovers flock to this highly popular event on the Overberg area for a day of home-style boerekos, boeremusiek and, of course, beards.

 

CONSTANTIA FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL (17 – 19 APR)

Enjoy a scenic drive with AAC to the historic and most proximal suburb in the Cape Winelands for the Constantia Food and Wine Festival from Friday, 17 to Sunday, 19 April 2015 and experience culinary delights and first-rate vintages from the region.  

 

CAPE TOWN MARIMBA FESTIVAL (24 APR)

The marimba, one of the most typical instruments for South Africa will show everything you possibly can get out of it at the Baxter Theatre on Friday, 24 April with a toe-tapping concert featuring 15 school bands. A collaboration between the Cape Town Big Band Jazz Festival and Woodworx Marimbas, the afro-infused music festival features young talent from schools and community project bands performing classic and contemporary songs.

 

K-WAY PLATTEKLIP CHARITY CHALLENGE (25 APR)

Are you fit enough to challenge this charity event? Experience an endurance test like no other and join the amazing Capetonians repeatedly summiting Table Mountain via the Platteklip Gorge route, which includes 800 steps and a 760-m climb. Individual entrants must complete a minimum of four laps and team members “only” three. As always, the run is held in aid of a good cause. If you afterwards can’t go any meter further, drive home with a car from Aroundaboutcars.

 

DECOREX CAPE TOWN (24 – 27 APR)

SOUTH AFRICAN CHEESE FESTIVAL (25 – 27 APR)

South Africans love cheese, tourist love cheese, everyone loves cheese so everyone will love the 2015 South African Cheese Festival at Stellenbosch’s Sandringham Farm from Saturday, 25 to Monday, 27 April 2015. A great range of artisan cheeses from across the country as well as wines, sweet treats and deli products will let you feel like being in food heaven. Make sure you take your time to relax between eating or take a short break at the Carnival Park with lots of fun activities for kids and older ones. 

 

AFRIKABURN (27 APR – 3 MAY)
