Christmas Carols Kirstenbosch

Christmas-Carols-KirstenboschFrom the 12th until the 15th of December you have the opportunity to get into mood for christmas by joining the Carols in Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Bring your friends and family and a huge picnic-bag full of delicious food and drinks and make yourself comfortable in the beautiful surrounding of the diverse vegetation in Kirstenbosch. Songbooks and candles will be distributed in the crowd and the money raised will be donated to local people in need. Tickets for those events are available at Pick n Pay only.

Madame Zingara

Madame-ZingaraMadame Zingara will be in town until January next year in order to perform their “After Forever” Tour. In an unique atmosphere the various acts on stage take you to another, magical world and live up to their show´s name “Theater of Dreams”. The delicious four course menu may also attract your attention but the fabulous artist will definitely catch your focus again. Unfortunately all remaining shows for November and December are fully booked but you may catch some spare tickets for January or let yourself be put on the waiting list.

De Waal Park

De-Waal-ParkOn the 4th and the 18th of December, you can enjoy yourself in De Waal Park while listening to the band performing on stage. All you need to bring is good spirits, friends or family, picnic and a large blanket to sit on. In a very relaxed atmosphere, everyone will be celebrating the last day of the weekend while sitting in the park, hopefully in the sunlight. Come early to catch the best spots, entrance is free!

Galileo Open Air Cinema

Galileo-Open-Air-CinemaThroughout the whole summer, the Galileo Open Air Cinema shows fantastic movies in nice locations. The genre of the movies presented range from comedy to classics and thrillers. You can even rent a blanket to make yourself comfortable and you can buy food as well in order to perfect your movie-evening. Tuesday the movies are shown at Hillcrest Quarry, on Wednesday you can go to Kirstenbosch Gardens and on Thursday you may hit the Waterfront for watching the movies right under the stars.

Sundowner at Table Mountain


The cable station offers a special for locals and tourists for a sundowner right on top of the Table Mountain. Until the 20th of December you can go to the top by cable car for half the price from 6 p.m. on. There you can watch the sun go down on Cape Town and enjoy the spectacular view from above the Mother City.


Sightseeing Bus at Night

For almost three hours, the bus will take you around the Mother City and will provide you with an exciting and memorable trip. All sightseeing items will be covered as usual but you will have a more romantic and unique tour than the tourists at daytime.

Moonlightmass Bicycle Ride

Moonlightmass Bicycle RideEvery month at fullmoon, hundreds of people ride through the city for fun. In January 2012 the whole thing was started as an experiment by two guys and developed to be a monthly tradition. Some of the people joining are dressed up or wear crazy make-up and simply enjoy themselves riding on their bikes. The ride starts at 21:30 p.m. and is a great opportunity to experience the capetonian spirit and have another perspective onto the city.

Stellenbosch-Fresh-Goods-MarketOn the 2nd and 3rd of December you may go to the Stellenbosch Fresh Goods Market in order to get into the right mood for Christmas. In the smooth light of some lit candles, you can buy biscuits, Advent wreaths and other Christmas gear. Additional to that you have the opportunity to take part in certain workshops.


Space Cowboys

Space-CowboysSouth Africa´s biggest dress-to-theme-party is celebrating its´  20th birthday and wants everyone to join the party. On the 14th of December the party starts at the Cape Town Stadium at 17:30. Established as a big celebration of the new constitution in 1994, the Mother City Queer Project grew to a huge event you should not miss.


New Year´s Eve

New-Year's-EveRight at the end of our list and right at the end of the year, we will be facing New Year´s Eve once again. The city of Cape Town will provide for a stunning show of fireworks as every year at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. In order to party into the new year you may already book tickets for the party of your choice because sometimes those tickets are limited and sold out soon.
