Come and join the Two Oceans Marathon
When it’s time for Easter, it’s also time for the Two Oceans Marathon! The world’s most beautiful marathon through Cape Peninsula takes place on 4 April 2015, the Saturday before Easter. The first race was held in 1970 and 26 runners participated there, not knowing that this marathon will be known as the world’s most beautiful marathon very soon. Since then, the race has become a national institution and over 30 000 athletes join it every year.
So where does the route take you? It starts in Newlands, heading to wonderful Muizenberg, then you’ll pass Fish Hoek, Champan’s Peak, Constantia Nek and finally your run should stop at the University of Cape Town. So besides working out, you can enjoy a few of the most beautiful spots around Cape Town.
Besides the whole route, the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon consists of the following races:
- ultra-marathon (56 km)
- half marathon (21 km)
- Two trail runs (10 km and 22km)
- A few fun runs for the whole family
If you want to go there by car be careful, because there will be several road blocks around the route. Have a look here to see which streets are blocked and what route you can take.
