If you visit south Africa, you have to go naturally also to the cape of good hope and cape point. It’s located about 70 km in the south of Cape Town and it’s easy to reach with the car. It’s the best if you do the route on the west side of the peninsula, so you got also the possibility to visit other attractions like “Camps Bay” and “Hout Bay”. Almost arrived at the cape you have to pass a Checkpoint to enter the national park, from there are only a few kilometres to the target. The street splits up one time, to the right you reach the cape of good hope, meanwhile to the left you reach the cape point. At the cape of good hope you will see big crowds who are fighting to get a good picture at the sign, which shows that you are at the cape of good hope.

From there you can hike to the cape point or go there by car. On the southernmost part of the peninsula you have to park your car and go the last bit by foot or otherwise you can take a kind of cableway to the top. On the top stands a historical lighthouse, which warned the sailors if they have to sail round the cape. The view on the top is amazing and it’s a good feeling to stand at this unique place.
The way back you can do the east side of the peninsula to visit other interesting attractions like “boulders beach”, with his cute penguins, or also the city Muizenberg. If you want to do this trip it’s good to plan the whole day to be sure to explore all of the amazing landscape of the cape and book your rental car now with Aroundaboutcars.
