Only a few more days to some special conferences and festivities happening in the Mother City.

Getting around may be tough because you can expect road closures for the week leading up to the opening of parliament and if you are flying in to attend the Mining Indaba it may just be easier to hire a car from the Cape Town Airport. This is where we, at Around About Cars, come in.

Opening Parliament Cape Town

Mark your calendar! It’s already time again for the annual official opening of Parliament in Cape Town. This year it is on Thursday, 12 February 2015 and starts at 7pm and ends at about 10pm.

The illustrious occasion is, as always, marked by the president’s much-anticipated State of the Nation Address (SoNA), a speech in which South Africa’s leader looks back at the achievements and shortcomings of the past year.

This event is not just big for rhetoric and political interests, but also very exciting for people who love luxury. You can watch a parade of sedans and a lot of haute couture outfits.

Watch out: there will be delays in traffic, parking restrictions and several streets will we closed! Check the website of the parliament for the details about the road closures – they will publish the information soon.

The Mining Indaba 2015

Only a few days to go – get ready for the annual Mining Indaba 2015!

Opening at Monday, 9th of February at Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) it’s going to be four days full of interesting talks, workshops and discussions. You can find the detailed programme here, which will be updated regularly. Interesting speakers will give you the opportunity to learn more about promoting and investing in Mining throughout Africa.

Mining Indaba is now the world’s largest mining investment conference, the world’s third largest mining conference and Africa’s largest mining event. This event is worth a visit and can help you understand the importance of Mining Indaba’s duties and their vision.
