As beautiful as South Africa is, poverty is high in large parts of the population. Around About Cars has formed a special connection with five charities for years.Support these fantastic projects with us – every bit of help counts!
KOLISI FOUNDATION In 2019, Siya and Rachel Kolisi established their foundation of the same name, expanding their private social commitment to the public. In collaboration with like-minded organizations,they commit themselves to make their vision of a just world a reality. Inconsequence, they assist communities in need in a variety of areas, from gender-based violence to sports opportunities and educational projects. Around About Cars supports the work of the Kolisi Foundation in its almost 40 community kitchens – including food donations in the township of Zwide in Gqeberha or by actively handing out healthy meals to around 1000 children and their parents in the city of Cape Town and its surrounding areas.
TOWNSHIP HELP Since the foundation of his NGO "Township Help",Entrepreneur Jörg Caluori has successsfully launched and implemeted numerous social campaigns. Around About Cars surported his organization from the word go - amongst others by the acquisition and renovation of an orphanage in the township of Langa near Cape Town. Thanks to numerous helpful hands, the formerly dilapidated building has developed into a fully equipped childrens home that offers safety and securiy for babies from under one year of age as well as to teenagers. Five empployyes ensure the well-being of the orphans on site - you can contribute from anywhere in the world and put a smile on theirfaces with your donation!
U-TURN Next to children, numerous adults in South Africa are affected by poverty too. U-Turn has committed itself to thier support, providing them a better future. In a multi-stage "Life Change" program the social organization offers various ways out of homeless-ness -initially with food and clothing, followed by educational programs, opportunities for internships and business careers. All their own stores such as laundries or service centers are looked after by participants who improve their skills in areas such as mechandising, customers service or IT at the same time. You too can help those affected regain their dignity - with donating textiles and food or by purchasing U-Turn vouchers in Around About Cars office.
BHONGOLETHU FOUNDATION From the beginning, Around About Cars was actively involved in “Work for Love” - not to say in its founding...The name has now changed to Bhongolethu Foundation, the goal of the social organization is still the same: offering children in the community of Masiphumelele access to education, providing them with the opportunity for the best possible personal development at an early age. The township on the way to the Cape of Good Hope is one of the poorest in the Western Cape, with a lack of infrastructure and health care as well as a high crime rate. Through a creative environment, motivation and attention, children up to the seventh grade receive targeted and individual and emotional support.
SPCA Not only people but also animals suffer in South Africa, and in all cases for absolutely no reason. Since 1955, the National Council of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals – NSPCA for short – has been committed to protecting helpless and mistreated animals on farms, in the wild or in experimental facilities. This makes the non-profit organization older and larger than any other animal protection organization in the country and can even point to years of patronage from Nelson Mandela. In various events like “Padel for Pets” or “Wines2Whales” the Cape Town SPCA attracts attention to their cause. Donate too and help preserve the countrys diverse fauna by protecting it from negative human influence!
